Awards & Recognitions

LBRE takes great pride in furthering our mission as “Caretakers of a Legacy.” We celebrate the numerous awards and recognitions our team has achieved for building design, historical renovations, and sustainability. The following are some of the organizational accomplishments for which we are particularly proud.


In 2020, RecycleMania, a national waste minimization competition comprised of 300 colleges, awarded Stanford first place for composting 87,840 pounds of food waste.

AIA Design Awards

The O'Donohue Family Educational Farm, Mayfield Place, and the David and Joan Traitel Building received awards in architecture and interior design from AIA Silicon Valley.

Preservation Design

Roble Gymnasium received the 2018 California Preservation Foundation Design Award for Rehabilitation.

American Architecture Awards

In 2020 and 2019, Denning House and 3223 Hanover in the Stanford Research Park (SRP) received this award respectively.

Palo Alto Stanford Heritage

In 2021, the home (purchased and renovated by Stanford under the Housing Initiative) at 352 Stanford Ave won this award under Project Manager David Kirk.

Engineering News-Record

Stanford received the 2018 ENR Owner of the Year award.
