Jean Snider
Jean has worked for Stanford University since January 2001 when she joined the university’s Real Estate group as the Director of the Stanford Research Park, overseeing all leases and properties comprising this 700-acre university asset. In 2006, Jean became Associate Vice President of the broader Real Estate unit overseeing all the Stanford Founding Grant lands that have been designated by the university’s Board of Trustees for the production of income, including the Stanford Research Park.
The Stanford Real Estate portfolio consists of 15 million square feet of buildings with varying uses such as office/Research & Development, hotels, senior housing, rental apartments, and retail. The Real Estate unit is comprised of professional and administrative staff whose primary objective is to optimize risk-adjusted portfolio income and value that directly support the university operating budget. Their responsibilities range from asset management, leasing, acquisitions and dispositions, property developments, and implementing long-range portfolio and asset strategic plans. In addition to managing this investment portfolio, the group oversees off-site acquisitions and developments for the university’s own use, such as Stanford Redwood City and faculty and staff housing projects, as well as processing real estate gifts granted to the university.
