Archaeology Opportunities at Stanford

Stanford University offers courses in archaeology, including “digs” in the local area, through the Archaeology Program and Continuing Studies.

Courses for Stanford students
Information about the Archaeology Program can be found at the Archaeology Center website. These courses are open to Stanford students.

Courses for members of the community
You may review the current catalog at the Continuing Studies website. Any adult member of the community can register for Continuing Studies courses.

If you are an educator or parent interested in inviting an archaeologist to visit your K-12 classroom, or a community group interested in inviting a speaker, the Archaeology Center has outreach programs designed to help you.

Volunteer opportunities
All archaeological digs rely on the dedication and service of interested members of the community who serve as volunteers. If you are specifically interested in donating time to our on-campus archaeological projects, please contact us.
