Capital Planning and Space Management

Who We Are

Capital Planning and Space Management leads the University's capital planning process each year. In addition, we administer the University Space Charge program and facilitate the allocation and evaluation of space throughout the University on an ongoing basis. Capital Planning and Space Management reports to the Associate Vice President of Finance and Administration within Land, Buildings and Real Estate.

What We Do

In addition to managing the University’s capital plan and allocating space on campus, we:

  • manage the Form 1 process and Facilities Reserve program for the University
  • undertake space planning and utilization studies in support of the University's goals and priorities
  • develop space-related policies and procedures
  • manage the space charge system and space charge related studies and plans
  • manage the University's furniture and workplace program

To achieve each of these tasks, the Department interfaces and communicates regularly with the Office of the Provost, colleagues within LBRE, Deans, Directors, and Senior Officers of the University.
